Nanowrimo
It's been a crazy, exciting and tough month for us at Kink Geek. We did the thing we hoped we wouldn't have to do, we missed Podcast post deadlines. We'd like to thank you all for being understanding, it was a tough decision to make. At the end of the day though, we decided that Nano was something that we commit to once a year and we needed to honour that commitment. That meant that other things in our life got done a little bit later than we would have liked. Was it worth it? I think so. We now have a 100K novel, penned by the both of us, that we are very proud of. We aren't quite done, but we are very happy with where things are headed and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Thanks for listening

Body Image
In this weeks podcast, Step and I shared some pretty personal stuff about poor body image and how it has impacted our lives.
For me, this has been a struggle since the age of nine when I was told by my doctor I was fat and needed to diet.
I mentioned in the pod cast that I would share a photo of me back then, as well as a few more, so here we go.
Here is a photo of me a number of years ago performing "Defying Gravity" (Click here to be taken to some of my recordings) and playing Nancy in "Oliver". I still have it in my mind that I am heavier now than I was then.
This is me today, in the polkdot dress that Step picked out for me that I talked about in podcast.
My body image issues are a work in progress. I wish I had more answers. I wish I better knew how to feel ok in the skin I'm in, but I don't, so I just keep trying.
If you also suffer from these sorts of issues, we'd love to hear your story, or if you have suggestions, words of wisdom or just would like to leave us a comment, please do- we'd love to hear from you!

| The doctor told us that because I didn't fit into the weigh-age ratio, I was fat and needed a diet. Nothing was spoken of body frame. |
